SERVICES & RESOURCES
Availability may vary throughout the year and is subject to scheduling, instrument availability, and instructor approval.
AVAILABLE NOW
Current students and approved non-students may reserve supervised Studio Access on select instruments—including keyboard percussion, timpani, concert percussion, drum set, and other available equipment—when those instruments are not being used for lessons or studio events.
Independent Studio Access
Students use the reserved space and available instruments independently in a focused practice environment. Basic recording equipment may be used for auditions, competitions, scholarships, social media, or personal review.
Assisted Studio Access
When scheduling permits, the instructor may assist with camera setup, recording angles, performance feedback, multiple takes, and other guidance to help create the strongest possible final recording.
COMING SOON
Timp Percussion plans to offer select instruments and practice equipment for monthly rental, helping students access appropriate equipment without requiring every family to make an immediate major purchase. Future rentals may include drums, stands, keyboard percussion instruments, and other available percussion equipment.
Rental inventory is being prepared. Contact the studio to discuss practical home-practice options while availability is developed.
Protecting students’ hearing
Healthy hearing habits are an important part of learning percussion. Timp Percussion provides reusable over-ear hearing protection for students to use during lessons when appropriate. Disposable foam earplugs are also available at no charge for students or visitors who need a single-use option. Musician-level reusable earplugs may also be available for purchase through the Studio Store. These are designed to reduce sound levels while preserving more musical clarity than standard disposable foam protection.

Ask About Equipment
Timp Percussion maintains a growing library of method books, solo literature, etudes, ensemble music, and educational resources to support students throughout their musical development. Whenever possible, students may borrow music from the studio library for use during their studies. Borrowed materials should be treated with care and returned promptly so they remain available for future students. Some method books, solo collections, and specialty literature are intended to become long-term resources for the student and may instead be recommended for individual purchase. In these cases, the instructor will help the family select the appropriate edition and may recommend trusted retailers. As the studio library grows, additional music will be added to benefit future students and expand the educational opportunities available through the studio.
Access and borrowing privileges are subject to availability and studio guidelines.
Celebrate commitment to the studio.

After one year

Learning beyond the weekly lesson.
Community solo and ensemble performances, Mock Utah PAS Solo & Ensemble adjudications, All-State preparation workshops, drumline and front ensemble audition camps, specialty clinics, masterclasses and guest-clinician workshops, studio recording sessions, ensemble experiences, and collaborative performances may be offered throughout the year. Participation is generally optional. Some events may be included with tuition, while others may require a separate fee. These experiences complement rather than replace weekly private instruction.
New workshops, performance opportunities, and studio events will be announced as they become available.
